Bobby’s Secret is Out was designed to lure youthful minds to engage in seductive content and illustrations pertaining to Bobby’s secret, which is very positive.   Also, this realistic fiction genre was written to inspire youth to aspire to their full potential by identifying and utilizing their God-given gifts and talents to benefit society.  Therefore, the youth will experience Bobby as a positive role model who loves and cares about his community and uses his gifts and talents to exhibit his great character.

The storyline promotes high expectations in academics at Nashville Elementary School and in the Nashville community.  Bobby and all students at Nashville Elementary School are expected to burgeon as youth in preparation for a successful adult life.  Bobby and all students are highly respected by their educators and parents.  Prominent forenames such as King, Queen, and Mr. are presented to demonstrate love, respect, and high expectations of Bobby and other youth.  For example, when Bobby inquires about being called Dr. Bobby and other students referred to with prominent labels, Mrs. Blair states, “I don’t expect you to be a doctor, but I expect you to be someone great because you are.”

Moreover, advanced vocabulary is included in content throughout the story to assist in the development of language skills.  It is vitally important that fourth through eighth graders procure and be challenged in word knowledge and advanced vocabulary throughout the process of education.  As a result, fourth through sixth graders will be prepared to meet the challenges of demonstrating proficiency in articulating scholarly language skills.

Finally, students can be introduced to a myriad of topics in the story such as gifts and talents, community development, leadership, self-esteem, African American and African History,  Native American History, Beijing, China and its’ silk markets, role models, high expectations, rap music, parent/child relationship, teacher/student relationship, peer communication and fashion design.  If these topics are presented at their level of interest, the students will be highly engaged in each concept.
